Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this article, a method to extract 3D region of an internal organ from helical scan CT data is proposed. This method is based on Level Set Method that propagates a closed surface with speed depend on its curvatures and gradients of image intensity, and fits the surface to a shape of the target region. In Level Set Method, a form for introducing 3D curvature into the method is not obvious and the extracted region is depend on a location of an initial surface. To treat these problems, curvatures based on the shapes of cross sections and two step extracting process are proposed. In the first extracting step, propagation speed depends on the gradients of image intensity. In the second step, the speed depends on the image gradients and the surface curvatures.
