Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper is about automatically reconstructing the full 3D surface of an object observed in motion by a single static camera. Image-based techniques for 3D reconstruction using either stereo or structure from motion require multiple images as input and essentially exploit the constraint that each point on the surface of an object has the same intensity when observed in each image. This constraint is often valid for stereo where two images are taking simultaneously so that the lighting of the object is identical in each image. However, when the object, is observed in motion by a static camera, the motion itself has the effect of changing the relative lighting conditions and hence the constant intensity constraint is invalid. In this paper we introduce the geotensity constraint that governs the relationship between four images of a moving object under arbitrary lighting conditions. We show that it is possible in theory to solve for 3D surface structure for the case of a single point light source. The surface of a convex object can be recovered even for the parts without texture.
