Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a method for optimization of structure and parameters of picture processing modules (PPM) by genetic algorithm provided that a pair of input and goal pictures is given. A PPM consists of sub-PPMs which can be defined as ordered picture processing primitives (PPP) with particular parameters. Iterative cascade structure is adopted as a general structure of a PPM. Simultaneous optimization of parameters and structure is performed by the genetic optimization with a technique of male-female crossing which enables both to save computational time and globalization of search.
