Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this papaer, we propose a method for verify human face using 3D-gray-scale image Which combines 3D image with gray-scale one. The proposed method can verify the facial images which face in various directions. Fist of all, the 3D positions, where the both eyes and the tip of the nose are, are estimated in the acquired 3D-gray-scale image. After that, calibration of the facial direction and gray-scale is performed. Part of the calibrated data are lost by occlusion on the facial images which face right and left largely. So, we suppose that a human face is symmetrical, and one side of the face image without the loss is decided to be the region for verification. Feature vectors that reflect individuality are extracted from this region. And the verification is done by the subspace method. In order to show the efficiency of this method, the experiment has done for 15 real 3D-gray-scale images.
