Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a new uncertainty model for gradient-based optical flow computation. The proposed model provides a statistical formulation of the gradient method. Two reliability measures are derived based on the model. One is quantitative accuracy measure and the other is fitness measure. Those reliability measures give solutions to several important problems such as aperture problem, occlusion detection and outlier rejection. The validity of the proposed model and reliability measure is evaluated through experiments.
