A Detection of Wet Condition on Road under Natural Environment Using a Background Image Renewal Processing

Abstract(in English) A detection of wet condition on load is one of the important information in vehicle running environment. This detection using image processing is including a subject which must adapt to variation of gray level and weather. A proposal method for this subject has been described in this paper. It employ a background renewal processing, and extract stable conditions to the variation of natural environment ; rainfall, snowfall etc. Good effects are obtained in comparison with conventional method under practical snowfall.
