Abstract(in English) A new algorithm for a background image generation is proposed which features its quick adaptation to the uniform fluctuations with respect to the image intensity caused by the automatic exposure control of video cameras and lighting conditions. First, for the efficient extraction of the moving object regions, they are presumed by the results of the past image sequence recognition. Next, an image fluctuation model, which consists of uniform and local fluctuations, enables the background image to be updated even in moving object regions. Finally, by applying the algorithm to a road traffic image, its performance is experimented.
