A Study on Subcarrier Frequency Allocation for Home Infrared Wireless Communications

Abstract(in English) Recently, high speed infrared wireless communications have attracted much attention to connect information appliances in the home infrared wireless communications. The baseband modulation system can realize infrared wireless communications cheaply. To use the baseband modulation in the home infrared wireless communications, it is necessary to make he baseband modulation system not influence the frequency band below 6 MHz where the remote control devices use. In this report, we propose the techniques using an NRZ (Non-Return-to-Zero) code and HPF (High Pass Filter), and using an MFM (Modified Frequency Modulation) code and HPF to use the high speed infrared wireless communication using baseband modulation and the remote control devices together. As the results of our analysis and computer simulations, we show that the effects of HPF on MFM code are smaller than those on NRZ code. We also show that the systems using NRZ code or MFM code with HPF can realize the bit rate of 125 Mb/s without affecting the remote control devices.
