A study on General-purpose IP-based Mobile Satellite Communications System

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an general-purpose IP-based Mobile Satellite Communications System. First of all, the target area of the newly developed system is presented in this paper. The system architecture shows that the proposed system can deal with the terrestrial wireless networks which include various types of terminals. The air-interface which can handle the transmission rate of the conventional speed to a couple of Mbps is developed. The technical approach that optimizes the configuration of satellite beams and the channel allocation is also investigated. The major breakthrough items leading to the development of the proposed system are discussed finally.
