Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is one of key subjects in communications networks with the small number of circular orbit satellites to cover the earth surface efficiently by satellite beams. Taking account of thin traffic in polar / equatorial regions and heavy traffic in medium latitude region, the paper proposes the method for deriving the initial satellite positions without the overlap of beam coverages in the region of medium latitude and with the overlap of beam coverages above and below the particular latitudes, and evaluates quantitatively the increase of satellite beam radius by allowing the overlap of beam coverages.
