Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the bit error rate (BER) performance of coherent adaptive antenna array diversity receiver employing optical fiber transmission with IF signal by laboratory experiments. We applied the configuration such that the E/O (O/E) conversions are conducted for the amplified received signal by AGC amplifier in the IF stage, taking into account the CNR requirements of E/O converter. Experimental results elucidate that the loss in the required transmit E_b/N_o at the average BER of 10^<-3> with optical fiber transmission in IF stage from that with coaxial cables is only within 0.2 dB (6 antennas, 3 users, 2-path Rayleigh fading channel model, and the ratio of the target E_b/I_o of the desired user to that of interfering user for fast TPC is ΔE_b/I_o=-15dB).
