Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the throughput performance when employing packet assignment scheduling and fast cell selection(FCS), which selects the transmit cell(sector) according to the instantaneous received signal level due to fading, in high speed downlink packet access(HSDPA). The Round-Robin scheduler(RR), Proportional Fairness scheduler(PF), and Maximum C/I scheduler(Max C/I) are used as the scheduling algorithms. Computer simulation results elucidate that although FCS increases the throughput performance when the RR is applied, almost no improvement is observed for the PF and Max C/I schedulers. Furthermore, the throughput with FCS for both between cells and sectors is increased by approximately 1.2 and 1.6 times that without FCS for the PF and RR methods, respectively, for soft handover users with a 20% ratio.
