Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The conventinal design criterion of Space-Time Trellis Codes (STTC) for fast fading channels is based on the minimum product distance over all the error event paths. Moreover, the trace of codeword distance matrix is a metric in evaluating STTC's frame error performance. Because both the minimum free distance and the weight distribution affect the performance of error correcting codes, we propose two new design criteria based on the product distance distribution over the error event paths that affect the frame error performance and the trace distribution of codeword distance matrix over the shortest error event paths, respectively. Simulation results show that the proposed design criteria are more useful for fast fading channels.
