A Study for Improving TCP Performance on Radio Terminal

Abstract(in English) We Present a method for improving TCP performance in a wireless cellular network, which needs changes of TCP layer only by the side of a radio terminal. In our method, the radio terminal sends 2 ACKs but 1 ACK as usual, when the packet loss rate on the radio link exceeds a threshold. By performing such control, it is expectable that TCP becomes robust to radio link errors. According to the analytical and simulation result, we show the performance improvements of TCP throughput by applying our method.
