Abstract(in English) | We formerly proposed the independent transmit power control (hereafter SIDTPC) algorithm in which transmit power of cell site (base station (BS)) candidates during soft handover (SHO) (or site diversity) is independently controlled using uniquely assigned transmit power control (TPC) bits for decreasing the impact of the TPC bits error in W-CDMA forward link inter-cell site diversity. This paper evaluated the performance with SIDTPC during SHO comparing to that with conventional TPC method (CTPC) and with site selection diversity transmitter (SSDT) in which only one cell site with the minimum path loss transmits, focusing on the major parameters such as the number of cell site candidates and the path loss difference between cell site candidates and a mobile station. Computer simulation results showed that the required total transmit power of cell site candidates using SIDTPC could be decreased by approximately 0.4 (0.6) dB and 0.8 (2.0) dB compared to that using CTPC and SSDT, respectively, irrespective of the path loss difference in slow fading channel such as the maximum Doppler frequency of 5Hz when the number of cell site candidates was 2(3). |
