Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have developed a smart antenna testbed system for IMT-2000, and carded out field trials with the developed system for the evaluation of the beamforming performance in the reverse link. It was confirmed that the beam center shaped for a user terminal steers in the direction of the user terminal and that a null is formed in the direction of another user terminal. We also compared the performance of various beamforming algorithms, and found that the best algorithm was the diversity combining for a couple of beams, whose weighting factors were calculated by employing the eigenvectors with the largest and second largest eigenvalues of the correlation matrix for the steering vectors of the Wiener solution.
