Optimal Downlink Beamforming Method for Multimedia SDMA System

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a downlink beamforming method for multimedia Space Division Multiple Access (SDMA) system. In the proposed method, a closed-loop power control is employed to keep each user's signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) above a threshold. The downlink beamforming is performed so that the total transmission power of the base station is minimized. The proposed method is applicable to time division duplex (TDD) system with and without power control scheme in the uplink. The numerical results show that the proposed method has greater capacity than the conventional method.
