Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel SDMA system that consists of base station smart antennas and some mobile terminals having a dual-polarized antenna. The smart antennas control spatial and polarization patterns adaptively with dual-polarized antenna array. Each mobile terminal communicates with the base station by assigned polarization to minimize the interference caused by the other mobile terminals. From the simulation results, it is reasonable to suppose that the proposed system has the advantage in a large capacity cellular environment. Moreover, we measured the vertically- and horizontally-polarized propagation in urban environment to confirm the actual performance of the proposed system.
