Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We describe the On-board Packet Switch (OPS) for the Engineering Test Satellite VIII (ETS-VIII). ETS-VIII will be launched in 2003. The OPS is the Japanese first intelligent on-board processor that provides multimedia information service for mobile earth stations. We verified the modulators and demodulators in the OPS have the enough performances for the severe system requirements through the system engineering model test. The specifications of the modulator and the demodulator in the OPS are severe, but we confirmed the specification through the system engineering module test. Now, we are preparing for the total function and environment test for the Proto Flight Model of the OPS. This paper mainly describes the demodulation characteristics of the OPS.
