Water Wave Observation by a MMW Doppler Radar with Narrow Beam

Abstract(in English) Observation methods of ocean wave using a narrow beam radar applied specular reflection theory is discussed. When radio wave is incident on water wave, specular reflection on plane surface of water wave is occurred. If transmitting beam of the radar is orthogonal to the reflection point of water wave, the reflection wave signal can receive by the antenna. It can be estimated the parameters of the wave by analyzing Doppler spectar. The algorithms to get water wave frequency from Doppler signal contamed in specular reflection power are derived. The observation method is evaluated experimentally in resear1h besin. As a result of the experiment, it is cleared that observation of the water wave frequency can be estimated.
