Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In broadband mobile communications, Co-Channel Interference(CCI), Inter-Symbol Interference(ISI), and relatively large propagation loss have to be overcome. Joint Space-Time-Equalization(S/T-Equalization) is considered most effective in solving these problems. This paper proposes a new S/T-Equalization technique that performs separated S/T-signal processing with acceptable levels of complexity. The algorithm used in an Adaptive Array Antenna combines the beam and null steering concepts; a sharp beam is steered towards the desired signal while nulls are steered towards interferers. For temporal equalization, a conventional DDFSE-type equalizer is used. The proposed S/T-Equalizer was prototyped, and field tests were conducted in the 5GHz frequency band. The results confirm that the proposed S/T-Equalizer can reduce ISI effects while maintaining reasonable signal strength, thereby improving BER performance. This paper outlines the field tests and its results.
