Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a novel site-diversity reception scheme in which binary-signal decoder output or soft-signal decoder input for forward error correction at multiple base stations is selectively transmitted to a control center between base stations and the transmitted signal is decoded after maximum ratio combining. This scheme increases the performance while slightly increasing the link capacity between base stations and the control center. Simulation results show that the novel scheme increases the required E_b/N_0 by approximately 1 dB to obtain the average bit error rate 10^<-4> for an outage of 10% with less than twice the link capacity compared to the conventional site-diversity scheme.
