Development of Coherent Demodulation QPSK FH-SS System Using with Digital PLL Symbol Synchronization Circuit

Abstract(in English) The QPSK modulation scheme is implemented to the newly developed FH-SS communication system. The delay demodulation is mainly used for the mobile application, however, this system employs both the coherent demodulation and the delay demodulation operating alternatively. With the Viterbi decoding, the system achieve very high reliability for the industrial application. In the employment of the QPSK modulation to the FH-SS system, it is impossible to enable the fast QPSK symbol synchronization in the coherent detection with the conventional scheme. To solve this problem, the symbol synchronization is taken directly without any carrier extraction. Also the DPLL symbol synchronization circuit, presenting in this paper, is developed for the FH-SS application. Designing of the prototype system is completed, operation tests and performance evaluations are undergoing now. After some improvement, this system will be in the market.
