Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses call control In the distributed micro-switched mobile network, which supports micro-cells in order to burst network capacity. Fast moving terminals pass through a micro-cell in a short period of time, and the possibility is high that this will happen before call set-up has been completed. In order to avoid connection failure, combined processing between the micro-cells in question is necessary. Centralized processing using a virtual macro-cell is compared to distributed processing where call control is (1) fixed at the base station where the call is originated, (2) is following the mobile terminal to the base station it is connected to. Distributed processing will use the radio resources efficiently, but in suggestion (2) an inconsistency in the ISUP will appear if the terminal changes radio cell after the IAM is sent, but before the answering message is received. Thus, we regard (1) as a better method for controlling the call set-up.
