Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the performance of pilot symbol-assisted coherent adaptive antenna array diversity (PSA-CAAD) of 4-antenna array, which using sector antenna with beam width of 90 and 120 degree, in W-CDMA reverse link for 2-user and 5-user cases in anechoic chamber. The experimental result shows that the PSA-CAAD has the large effect of improving the average BER compared to the case of sector antenna reception, because the null beam can be generate toward to the direction of interference user. But it also shows that its enhancement is degraded when the direction angle of the desired user is close to that of the interference user and when it approaches the edge of 3 dB element beam width (a drop of 2 order of BER has been degraded). Furthermore, it also clarified that the PSA-CAAD with 120 degree beam width element can reduce 2 order of the average BER within the direction of desired signal range of ±60 degree relative to the case of using sector antenna under 5-user environment, nevertheless the number of the interference users are beyond the number of antenna branches.
