Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the performance of pilot symbol-assisted coherent adaptive antenna aray diversity (PSA-CAAAD) using the fast transmit power control for W-CDMA mobile radio reverse link. The laboratory experiments showed that the degradation of the PSA-CAAAD compared to the antenna diversity reception can be improved by using the fast transmit power control when the interferting signal power is low. The required average transmit power to obtain BER=10^<-3> also shows that the PSA-CAAAD is very effective in reducing the interference from high bit rate users at high transmit power. This is because the maximum gain of the generated beam pattern is obtained towards the desired signal direction and the nulls are directed toward the interfering sources.
