Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents the laboratory and field experimental results of BER performance using orthogonal multispreading factor (SF) transmission in W-CDMA forward link. From the laboratory experiments using multi-path fading simulator, when interfering user of symbol rate of 1024 ksps using orthogonal multi-SF code exists, the almost same BER performance was achieved as that when interfering user using 16 orthogonal channels with symbol rate of 64 ksps exists (total symbol rate is same), this implying the orthogonality in the same path is maintained in the case both with/without fast transmit power control. Field experimental results also demonstrated that orthogonal multi-SF transmission between different SF channnels using tree-structured orthogonal spreading codes was achieved in practical environments and that the average received signal power required for achieving average BER of 10^<-3> can be reduced by about 2-3 dB compared to the case with non-orthogonal codes with antenna diversity reception.
