Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report proposes an in-line monitoring scheme of the propagation path characteristics for an adaptive modidation, TDMA/ TDD system. In this scheme, instantaneous delay proffie of the received signal is measured using a modified PN sequence embedded in the preamble of each burst, and instantaneous C/N_0 and delay spread for the next transmission slot are estimated using the reciprocity of the propagation path characteristics in the TDMA/ TDD systems to decide the most appropreate modulation parameters for the transmitted signal using.Computer simulation confirms that the proposed method can estimate instantaneous C/N_0 and delay spread with errors of less than 1.5 dB and 0.02 T_s,and they degrades the BER performance of an adaptive modulation scheme by only 1dB.
