An Application of Trellis-Coded Modulation with Interleaving to Frequency Selective Fading Channels;Integration of Adaptive Equalization and Trellis-Coded Modulation

Abstract(in English) A trellis-coded modulation is applied to a frequency selective fading channels.In this case,a methods to compensate a signal distrobon is necessary.The proposed system is made good use of an adaptive equalizabon and a trelliscoded modulation with an interleaving.A branch metric in the trellis decoder is calculated on the bases of a postrior probability by taking the intersymbol interference into account.As a result,the receiver configurabon which use a channel equalization and an interleaving is free from a decision delay by the trellis decoder.A computer simulation results show the ten decade better performance of average bit error rate compared to a RLS-MLSE equalizer in the range of maximum Doppler frequency from 40 to 200 Hz and average E_b, N_o > 15 dB.
