Development of fast mobile tracking system for broad-band wireless access

Abstract(in English) Tracking moving targets is considered one of the elements to realize broad-band wireless access systems, in which each base station has an array antenna to detect the locations of moving terminals and to formulate narrow antenna beam pattern. To realize this system, the base station has to estimate the directions of arrival(DOA) of impinging signals and provide the maximum gain to the desired signal direction and suppress the interference from the other terminal. However, conventional methods are not suitable for this system because they are not designed for real-time processing or they do not give the precision of the DOA estimates. This report shows that we developed the real-time mobile tracking system for fast moving targets to realize broad-band wireless transmission, in which we utilized a new algorithm and digital signal processors(DSP). The proposed system can track moving targets accurately in real time.
