Abstract(in English) In this paper, multilevel coded 16-QAM modulation with multistage dccoding and unequla error protection is proposed and analyzed. We derive tight upper bound and approximated bound on bit error probabilities at each decoding stage, and show thier validity by computer simulation. Based on the derived bounds it is illustrated that more freedom in code construction is available with asymmetric constellations.
