Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper investigates the BER performance of the 384kbps multi-code transmission using pilot symbolassisted coherent RAKE, adaptive transmit power control, and concatenated channel coding in laboratory and filed experiments. The experimental results showed that by sharing the time-multiplexed pilot symbols in several code channels, the required Eb/N0 can be decreased by about 1dB compared to the case when the only the dedicated pilot symbols are used. It was shown in the laboratory experiments that the average BER of 10^-6 can be achieved at the average Eb/N0 of about 4dB when the RAKE and 2branch antenna diversity and concatenated channel coding are applied in 2-path equal average signal power model. It was also shown that the required Eb/N0 using concatenated channel coding of convolutional coding and Reed-Solomon coding at the average BER of 10^6 can be decreased by about 1-2dB compared to the convolutional coding only case in laboratory and field experiments.
