Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Mitigating effects of Inter-Symbol Interference(ISI) due to multipath propagation and identifying time-varying multipath channel have been considered as keys to achieving broadband mobile multimedia communications. This paper proposes a novel joint signal processing for Sequential Sequence Estimation(SSE) and adaptive channel identification. Since the SSE process relies on metric comparison among paths having defferent lengths, its required complexity is independent of the channel delay spread, and hence is promising for the equalization of signal suffering from severe ISI. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme is effective in significantly reducing computational complexity compared with that required for the Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation(MLSE) while keeping performances acceptable.
