| Abstract(in English) | Measurement of the characteristics of snowflakes is important in the investigation of radio wave attenuation.A computer-based system for measuring the characteristics of snowfall is described.To measure the size and velocity of falling snowflakes quantitatively, images of snowflakes taken by a CCD camera were input to an image-analysis board installed on a computer.Characteristics of snowflakes were calculated using this system.Some applications of this system are also presented. |
