Interference reduction characteristics of two base stations placed at

Abstract(in English) In microcell systems, locating base stations in high places can enlarge communicable areas.However, co-channel interference(CCI)from the surrounding base stations also reaches the base stations. It is well-known that adaptive array can effectively suppress CCI, also terminal stations can't recieve the signal from the base station in the case that a null direction of adapted pattern is the terminal stations. We has already proposed two base stations using adaptive array which can simultaneously achieve interference reduction and form a circular cell for the terminal stations.In this paper, we evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed base station by field measurement using prototype of adaptive array.As the results, it is confirmed that the proposed base stations can achieve about 30% channel capacity than that of a base station with omni-directional antenna and can make an omni-directional area with reducing CCI in actual microcell systems.
