Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a transmission slot control scheme for a resevation TDMA system using an adaptive modulation to achieve efficient integration of high capacity voice and high throughput data transmission services. In the proposed system, voice terminals are served by the reservation TDMA combined with an adaptive modulation, whereas the data terminals are served by the slotted ALOHA QPSK using non-reserved slots or temporarily unused slots of the reserved channel due to silence duration of voice. To further increase the number of unused slots of the reserved cahnnel, the proposed system also employs an adaptive modulation scheme. That is, when higher modulation level is employed due to good channel condition, the proposed system intermittently use the reserved slot.Computer simulation confirms that the proposed sheme is very effecive in improving throughput performance of the data transmission without loosing voice service capacity.
