Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A coherent block demodulation scheme for the reception of wideband CDMA(W-CDMA)packet data transmitted over frequency selective fading channels is described.Known pilot symbols are inserted within the transmitted packet. The received W-CDMA packet waveform is sampled and stored for matched filtering and succeeding coherent RAKE combining. The use of a random spreading code sequence unique to a user enables simultaneous chip and packet synchronization.Power delay profile is measured using both pilot and data symbols for path search.Channel estimation for coherent RAKE combining of packet replicas transmitted over different propagation paths is performed using pilot symbols.Synchronization performance and packet error rate(PER)performance are evaluated by computer simulation.
