Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This papaer proposes a time division multiplexed multi-layered cell configuration for DS/CDMA cellular systems to achieve higher system capacity. To reduce inter-layer interference between the macrocells and microcells ofthe multi-layered cell configration, the proposed scheme introduces a time division multiplexing techniques. That is, some bits in a macrocell system are regularly deleted using a punctured coding technique to create vacant time slot in each frame, and microcell signal is transmitted using the created vacant slot, thereby preventing mutual interference between the macrocell and microcell sytems.Computer simulation confirms that the proposed system achieves 10 times higher system capacity than the conventional single-layered cellular system.
