Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) System capacity is limited by interference power from other users in DS/CDMA upper link. In order to overcome this problem, there are some methods such as reception diversity at plural base stations and multiple access interference (MAI)cancellation. The reception diversity method carries out a RAKE combining which combines the received signals of center and surrounding base stations. While, the MAI cancellation method removes interference signals from received signal by these replicas, and then, the own data are demodulated. In this paper, we propose the combination of the reception diversity and MAI cancellation methods, and examine its system capacity in the case that the transmitting power of mobile is controlled for a required BER. As a result, both the transmission power and interference can be reduced by the proposed system, and the system capacity is considerably improved.
