Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Adaptive array antennas (AAAs) and interference cancellers (ICs) have been studied as techniques to suppress multi-user interference and increase the channel capacity of DS-CDMA (direct sequence code division multiple access) mobile communication systems. In this paper, we propose a new type of interference canceller with an adaptive array antenna (ICAA), which benefits from the advantages of both technologies. Furthermore, we also propose a structure in which this technique is applied only to the high data rate users in a base station (Partial Canceller). This in combination with a closed-loop transmission power control (TPC) based on signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SIR). The simulation results shows that the Partial Canceller is effective in decreasing the transmission power of high-data-rate users, is also effective in increasing the channel capacity of low-data-rate users.
