Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The BER performance of the RAKE receiver using weighted multi-slot averaging (WMSA) pilot symbol-assisted channel estimation was investigated in laboratory experiments. Form the obtained results, it is clarified that the required Eb/No at the average BER of 10^<-3> of the K=2 WMSA channel estimation filter can be reduced by about 0.7-1.0dB compared to the linear interpolation filter and that the K=2WMSA channel estimation filter has a good tracking performance against fast fading up to 320Hz. It is also demonstrated that the concatenated channel coding using convolutional coding (inner coding) and RS coding (outer coding) is effective in reducing the required Eb/No compared to the inner coding only and the when IIL=10ms and OIL=200ms, average BER of 10^<-6> can be achieved at the required Eb/No of 5dB by using 2-branch antenna diversity.
