Abstract(in English) For high-speed wireless multimedia communications, efficient transmission is an important research issue in the fading environment. The use of ARQ is well-known means for reliable transmission of data, but the problem of ARQ scheme is its lower efficiency caused by unnecessary retransmissions over high error rate channels. In order to improve the throughput characteristic, we propose a new ARQ scheme with the estimate and report of error pattern(EREP-ARQ). The purpose is to reduce the probability of retransmission in the ARQ scheme. The performance for a concrete design is also evaluated through simulations. As a result, it is shown that EREP-ARQ is suitable for providing high-speed multimedia communications over wireless.
