Retransmission Control scheme for TCP Packet Radio Systems

Abstract(in English) With the introduction of TCP to packet radio systems, unnecessary TCP packet retransmission causes degradation of the throughput in wireless communication. Thus, two schemes are proposed for controlling retransmitted TCP packets over wireless communication. One scheme discards retransmitted TCP packets at radio terminal, and the other keeps round trip time constant for stopping TCP packet retransmission. The performance of these proposed schemes is evaluated through computer simulation. The simulation results show that the data transmission time is reduced by 15% on average under FER=10^<-2>, and throughput is improvedby one figure when throughput=0.95. These results show the merits of the proposed schemes.
