DS/CDMA Adaptive Interference Canceller in Mobile Radio Environments

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a multiple-access interference (MAI) canceller for direct-sequence codedivision multiple-access (DS, CDMA) mobile radio communications,which can operate effectively in fast fading environments.The proposed canceller consists of a fractionally chip-spaced code-orthogonalizing filter and a differential detection circuit.The orthogonalizing filter adaptively makes its tap coefficients orthogonal to all other users′ spreading codes by minimising the mean squared error betwee n the detected and decision symbols.After MAI cancellation,the differential detection circuit removes the fast phase fluctuation of the desired carrier due to fading.The proposed MAI canceller only uses the desired spreading code and needs no information for other users,i.e.the spreading code,spreading timing,carrier phase and so on.Thus,the proposed canceller is of practical use and promising for future DS/CDMA mobile radio systems.
