A Study on Spatial and Temporal Equalization Based on Combination between Tap Selectable Viterbi Equalizer and Antenna Diversity

Abstract(in English) In radio mobile communications, adaptive equalization is a practical countermeasure for compasation of the multipath fading. Since the relationship between equalization performance and calculation complexity is trade off generally, the system that a degradation of performance is less can be desired. This paper proposes and investigates a tap selectable Viterbi equalizer combined with antenna diversity. This temporal and spatial Viterbi equalizer can acheive performance close to MLSE by using the outputs and the channel information obtained from all the antennas.
