Investigation of Reducing Transmission Delay in Mobile Video Communication System Using ARQ

Abstract(in English) Applying the ARQ to real time video communication has a serious Problem because the retransmission control scheme of ARQ causes transmission delay. We analyze this delay and propose the adaptive error control scheme using the acknowledgement from the receiver to reduce the delay. We evaluate this scheme using the computer simulation, as a result, the proposed scheme can reduce the delay by controling the amount of video data and frame skip. It can also satisfy the criterion of video quality which is shown by the subjective test.
