Abstract(in English) A rapid cell search scheme was formerly proposed in DS-CDMA asynchronous cellular system using long code. In the proposed scheme, the long code masked symbols spread by only common short code are periodically used between information data symbols spread by both long code and short code. In this paper, the cell search time performance of proposed scheme is evaluated as a parameter of the number of the masked symbols and that of averaging frames in long code timing detection stage and the transmit power per channel of base station. Then required transmit power of the control channel in view of cell search is calculated. Finally, it is shown that the imperfection of orthogonality of traffic channels due to the masked symbols is negligibly small.
