Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Media Access Control (MAC) controls access priority of layer 1 and is classified into three methods : reservation, polling, and contention. Reservation method such as user traffic channel in cellular communication and contention method such as slotted ALOHA are generally used in wide area radio communication. Each method has advantages and disadvantages in transmission efficiency and power. Power corresponds to capacity in DS-CDMA. In this paper, comparison between reservation and contention method is considered in view of power. In conclusion, it is clarified that applicable region of one method is different from that of another method in accordance with both transmission duration of synchronizing or power control information and estimation error of propagation loss and shadowing.
