Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report describes an AFC in mobile stations for spread spectrum mobile radio communications. We propose an AFC with great robustness for fading by using received multi-path signals effectively. This AFC combines frequency offset values obtained for all paths by the maximal ratio combining. This path diversity effect improves the performance degradation due to Rayleign fading. The performances for initial frequency acquisition and frequency tracking are evaluated through computer simulations. As the results, we clarify that the proposed AFC with 3 path combining brings over twice speed in initial frequency acquisition and about 6 dB improvement in frequency tracking in comparison with no path diversity method.
