Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Interference reduction capability of MMSE (Minimum Mean Square Error) diversity or LMS adaptive array reception is studied on the branch/element arrangement for base stations of mobile communication. It is often studied to apply adaptive array antenna to mobile communication systems to extend the user capacity. On the other hand, diversity reception has been widely used to cope with fading. Among various combining methods, MMSE diversity has the same signal processing and algorithms as LMS or RLS adaptive array, so it can also reduce co-channel interference. According to the theoretical studies, the wider branch/element space has almost same performance as half-wavelength space in static propagation model and it has the better performance in Rayleigh fading.
